The Center’s annual conference provides a professional forum for discussing complex therapeutic issues in rehabilitation. Conference topics address how to improve functional outcomes and quality of life. Keynote lectures are focused on the following topics: Advances in Joint Replacement and Rehabilitation Implications, Orthopedic Trauma and Rehabilitation, and Spinal Surgery and Rehabilitation. Workshop sessions are focused on topics like Post-Operative Analgesia, Evaluation and Treatment of Wrist Trauma, Wound Care in the Post-Acute Rehabilitation Setting, and Balance and the NeuroCom.
The keynote speakers are Roman A. Hayda, MD, Col. (Retired), Director, Orthopaedic Trauma, Rhode Island Hospital; Philip R. Lucas, MD, Surgeon, University Orthopedics; and Valentin Antoci, Jr., MD, PhD, Hip and Knee Surgeon, University Orthopedics
Workshop presenters include Victoria Moitoso, OTR/L, CHT, Director of Hand Therapy, Foundry Orthopedics & Sports Medicine; Jayne Pawasauskas, Pharm.D., BCPS, Clinical Professor of Pharmacy, University of Rhode Island; Catherine Ciemier, DPT, and Kristen Smith, PT from Sargent Rehabilitation Center, and Philip W. Zingale, PAC, General Surgery, PA, Fatima Hospital Wound Center.
The registration fee of $150 includes: continental breakfast, lunch, and CEUs/contact hours. Early registration (payment postmarked by October 1st) is $125, and a student/consumer/patient/CharterCARE employee rate of $50 is also available.
