SNERC’s annual conference successful
Over 100 health care professionals attended the 22nd Annual Southern New England Rehabilitation Center Conference, "Advances in Stroke Rehabilitation" on October 9th at the Crowne Plaza. Those in attendance heard from a variety of speakers topics ranging from Awareness Deficits in Stroke: Implications for Recovery and Treatment, Important advances in acute stroke treatment, secondary prevention, and recovery, and The Future of Home Stroke Recovery and Prevention: Where will Connected Health Tools Fit? Along with several educational workshops. This annual conference provides a professional forum for discussing complex therapeutic issues in rehabilitation.
The 2015 conference focused on the challenges of stroke rehabiliation. The conference is intended for physicians, nurses, therapists, speech pathologists, social workers, case managers, therapeutic recreation specialists, and others who work in a rehabilitation setting.
“We are pleased to once again share the latest information on rehabilitative care with our colleagues from the region,” said Dr. Jon Mukand, Medical Director of the Southern New England Rehabilitation Center at Fatima Hospital. “The care of these patients can be challenging, and we are glad to have an impressive roster of presenters.”
The Southern New England Rehabilitation Center is fully licensed by the RI Department of Health and accredited by both CARF and TJC. The Center, which maintains academic affiliations with Boston University, Brown University and Tufts University, recently relocated to Fatima Hospital in North Providence, a CharterCARE Health Partners’ affiliate.
